Links is de politieke richting in het politiek spectrum die streeft naar sociale gelijkheid. Termen als links, rechts, centrumlinks en centrumrechts suggereren dat alle politieke partijen vrij eenvoudig gepositioneerd kunnen worden in een spectrum dat varieert van extreemlinks tot extreemrechts. Links en rechts wordt gebruikt om een onderscheid te maken tussen de partijen die de samenleving willen veranderen of vorm geven. Links wordt vergeleken met vooruitstrevend.
